Today’s game isn’t actually a game in and of itself, but rather a neat charity group that focuses on packaging together a set of great, independently produced games for short periods of time in order to raise money for a number of charities, including Child’s Play and the American Red Cross. This charity group is called Humble Bundle.

Basically, the group gathers together independant games into a unit which can be purchased for any amount of money. You get to choose how the money is split between the game developers, charity, and the Humble-Bundle administration. If you donate more than the average donation, you unlock an additional game.

And, on top of all that, you get soundtracks for most/all of the games in every bundle.  Games, soundtracks, and giving to charity?  It’s a one stop shop of awesome.

As of writing this post, Humble Bundle is on their Sixth independent bundle which includes Dustforce, Rochard, Shatter, SPAZ, Torchlight, and Vessel. Bundles typically last for 15 days, and the average donation is usually around $5-6. Not bad for 6 games, though since money does go to charity, I recommend giving as much as you can if you’re going to participate.
